Family weekend in Charlotte!

Two weeks apart felt like FOREVER after spending several weeks/weekends together. Regardless, we survived, and we were re-united when Jeff caught a ride with my parents to Charlotte to visit me and to attend Victoria's First Holy Communion in Rock Hill. It was a very quick trip but I enjoyed every minute of it! Can't wait until I can spend the summer with him and my family (and hopefully visit his family in NY)!!

Law school has a prom?

After a week apart, Jeff drove back down to Charlotte to spend the weekend with me and go to the Law School Prom - also known as Barrister's Ball. Who knew law school had a prom?!

We spent the evening with a friend from school, Ashley and her boyfriend, Dave. We had a great time hanging out before, during and after "prom." Can't wait for next year!

Did someone say celebration at the beach?

Jeff and I celebrated our engagement with our family and friends in Morgantown and Clymer during my Spring Break. Then we headed to Charlotte for Jeff's Spring Break to spend some more time together. On the way to Charlotte, we started talking about how much fun it would be to spend some time at the beach celebrating together. When we got to Charlotte, Jeff started researching our options while I worked on school work. It wasn't long before Jeff found a place for us to stay and booked it! I was so excited!! We left one day after I got out of class and headed for the beach. We had such an amazing time together chatting about the upcoming wedding planning we would be doing and enjoying the wonderful weather. As you probably know, Jeff and I are notorious for doing things very spur of the moment. Well while at the beach, we made a quick decision to find a photographer to take our engagement photos - and sure enough we found an amazing guy! We had a blast and ended up with 300 photos to use for various things for the wedding. Jeff has already started designing some save the dates using some of the photos! On our way home, we stopped at Dick's Last Resort where the servers make fun of you the entire time. It was very entertaining!

Overall, we had an amazing trip celebrating our engagement together at the beach!

Yes!! -- That's what she said!

I finished my legal writing paper, uploaded the paper to the web-site, packed a bag, jumped a plane and headed home for Spring Break. All I could think about was spending a week with the love of my life and catching up - followed by him spending a week in Charlotte with me!

My plane landed, I grabbed my luggage and Jeff was waiting for me outside. We had been planning to go to dinner at Bucca di Beppo near the Robinson Mall near the airport. I was so excited to see Jeff! I threw my luggage in the car and we headed to dinner. When I got in the car, Jeff told me that he tried to make a reservation at Bucca but they were all booked. He said they had another location in downtown Pittsburgh. That sounded wonderful. Anything sounded wonderful. My paper was turned in, I was on Spring Break and I was with Jeff - perfect!

Bucca's other location turned out to be in Station Square. I was so excited when I realized, because I had never been to Station Square before! We parked the car and Jeff started walking away from the restaurants. I was really confused so I asked him what he was doing. He said he thought we could walk along the water for a little bit, grab some appetizers and drinks before dinner. Sounded great to me! It was a beautiful evening in Pittsburgh. The weather was gorgeous. We walked along the water and decided to stop for a few drinks. We laughed and chatted and then decided to walk along the water longer to see what restaurant options we had for dinner. There were tons to choose from!

Jeff said that he wanted to go down along the water, near the railroad track to take a look at the beautiful skyline and talk about where we wanted to eat. The sun was almost hidden as we looked over the water at the beautiful city skyline. I gave Jeff a hug and I noticed his heart was racing. I thought it was kinda odd, so I asked if he was ok and he said he was fine (and looked at me like I was crazy).

After chatting for awhile longer about how much we missed each other and were looking forward to all the fun things we were going to be doing in the two weeks ahead of us, Jeff asked me if I truly wanted to spend "forever, forever" with him. You see, we have a little saying between us, that we want forever, forever with each other, so when he asked me this I didn't really think anything of it. And I replied that I wanted that more than anything. Jeff said, "Well then, I guess I have a question to ask you then." I still had absolutely NO clue what was going on. So I just laughed and said, "What's that" as I turned around...

Jeff was knelt down on one knee and asked me the question every girl waits for, the question every girl dreams about.

Will you marry me?

I replied through the happiest of tears, "OMG! Of course!!"

I guess I thought I replied quicker than I did, because I remember Jeff looking at me and asking "Well??" I guess I was so excited and shocked that I didn't reply quick enough and just kind of left him on his knee for a few minutes!

Every girl dreams about the day when their Prince Charming will sweep them off their feet and ask them to marry them. Well, I must say, my Prince Charming definitely surpassed any dreams I had of what it would be like when he asked me to marry him!

We spent the rest of the evening celebrating in Station Square. We had dinner and dessert at The Melting Pot!! It was delicious!! I couldn't have imagined a better evening!! Can't wait to start our lives together!

We decided to start this blog to help our family and friends keep up with us. (Especially since we are all miles apart.) We hope you all enjoy keeping up with us and seeing what we are up to as we being our journey through life together!

Here are some pictures from the evening Jeff proposed!
