Feels like home...

Jeff's apartment finally feels like home.  The "new" furniture arrived yesterday and is in place.  We no longer have to use a camping chair and a desk chair for living room furniture!!  Yay!

The couch and chair fits nicely in the living room with plenty of floor space for P90x workouts!  (We have a love/hate relationship with those workouts! haha!)

Pictures will be posted soon!

Gourmet Chefs? Who knew?

Now that Jeff is moved in to his new apartment and has cooking utensils, we thought we would try to make one of the recipes we found in one of the Rachael Ray cookbooks we have.  We decided number 178 looked delicious... It had eggplant, tomatoes, spaghetti noodles, chicken, and a few other things all mixed together.  It certainly was delicious!  It was so much fun cooking together!  We can't wait to try another new recipe soon!

The lovely cookbook!

Mmmm... Eggplant!

Dinner!

Bittersweet... Graduation weekend!

What a whirl-wind of a weekend!  I finished my last final on Thursday morning and drove to Morgantown.  Friday Jeff and I spent all day on making his new apartment feel like home.  We took a trip to Pittsburgh to IKEA (one of our favorite places) to get some furniture, kitchen supplies and home decor.  We had a blast staying up until 2:30am putting furniture together, making dinner and enjoying each other's company.  Here are some pictures of the apartment, before and after the work we put in on Friday.

On Saturday, Jeff's family came to Morgantown for his college graduation.  It is so hard to believe that 5 years ago we both came to WVU as freshman, met a year later in our sophomore year, and we are now inseparable.  WVU will always hold a special place in our hearts.  As Jeff said the morning of his graduation, "I could have done a lot of things while I was here at WVU - but I got my degree and I found my wife - guess I can't ask for much more than that."  (How sweet is he??)  The commencement ceremony was beautiful and we celebrated afterwards with dinner at Cheddars, delicious cookies on a stick (thanks Julie Ganske!) and a WVU cake that Jeff's mom decorated!  It was beautiful!  We also celebrated Kristy's birthday (Jeff's sister)!  Happy Birthday to you Kristy!!

Jeff's family headed home on Sunday but not before stopping for breakfast with my family at IHop!  We all ate lots of food and were stuffed!  Can't wait until we can all get together again!

Here are some pictures from graduation:

588 miles apart...

588 miles doesn't seem that far apart... or does it? 1,034,880 yards... 3,104,640 feet ...

What about now??

Well, it seems pretty far to me! Maybe that is because I am studying all weekend for the last two final exams of my first year as a law student. Or maybe that is because Jeff is enjoying great food at the French Creek Tavern, visiting with his family and friends in Clymer. Or maybe it is because I would rather be there any day than where I am now? Regardless, I don't have much of a choice!

588 miles separates me from Jeff this weekend... 588 miles separates Charlotte from Clymer... Those 588 miles are nothing though, after realizing we have spent almost an entire 8.5 months apart... that means we have spent nearly 279 days apart (give or take here or there)!

I hope Jeff has a wonderful time visiting everyone this weekend! Wish I could be there - or visiting my family to celebrate Mother's Day! I will get to see everyone soon enough!

588 miles might be a long way, but in 6 days I will have taken my last two final exams of my first year, I will have celebrated the end of "the year o' hell" with my classmates, and I will be on the country roads that take me home to the place I belong!! Even better yet, in 8 days Jeff will be graduating from WVU! Can't wait to spend the weekend with both of our families!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! :-)

Humidity, Phil and Us!

Every year the PGA Tour makes a stop in Charlotte, NC at the Quail Hollow golf course. The tournament used to be called Wachovia Tournament, but they pulled their sponsorship - so now it is called the Fed Ex Cup (I think). Anyways, as many of you know, Jeff and I LOVE golf (not to mention sports in general). We weren't going to go to the tournament at first, but then Tiger AND Phil announced they would be playing in the tournament, we immediately bought tickets.

Unfortunately, Tiger didn't make the cut, but Phil sure did! Jeff and I arrived at the tournament around noon after catching a shuttle from a parking area. The tournament people were very, very efficient. We grabbed some food and drinks, then headed to the number 3 green where we watched several groups go through. Then Phil came through and I was soooo excited! After watching everyone on that green, we headed to grab some more food and drinks and head for air conditioning in the merchandise tent. The heat and humidity were almost unbearable. We were both exhausted after only being there for about 2 hours. After our refreshments, we headed to the number 9 green, watched several go through again (including Phil), then headed to watch them in the fairway of number 10.

Number 17 is pretty tricky. The players have to tee off over water and make it on to a little island type area... Jeff and I sat down on the bank of the water, opposite of the hole. We watched several players go through, and then watched Phil one more time before leaving. Rory McIlroy won the tournament and set a record for the course. It was his first win on the PGA Tour! Congrats to him!!

We don't have any pictures from inside because we weren't allowed to take cameras or cell phones, but we did get a picture before the tournament and after... Can you tell how exhausted we were?

Here is one of Jeff before we left. He folded his poncho up inside itself and hung it off his belt. Needless to say, he didn't wear the poncho like this at the tournament. :-)

Here is a picture of us outside of my apartment before heading to the tournament...

Here is a picture of us in the car AFTER the tournament... exhausted and "tan" -haha!
